Great book!

this book is beautiful. One of my favorites - and my son's favorite. The pictures are soft and beautiful. The words are partially traditional (from the song) and partially new (and very sweet!) The first several pages depict Jesus holding and playing with little children, but the last verse, which talks about Jesus being with us still today, features pictures of children in modern day clothes, on a picnic. My favorite illustration is at the end; a father reading the Bible to the children on their picnic blanket.
It's a sweet, easy to read, altogether lovely book that I would buy again. I've already purchased a second copy for a birthday gift for a friend's child, and will likely do so again. You can't go wrong with this one.

A bedtime favorite

My almost two-year-old daughter loves this book and often requests it at bedtime. She points out things in the pictures to talk about and enjoys singing along. It's a sturdy boardbook, so sometimes she'll even take it to bed, and I don't worry about pages getting ripped. The pictures are gentle and happy, and I like the way they make a transition from a New Testament setting to modern day.
