Michelle Prater Burke is the author of The Story of the Wright Brothers and The Ideals Guide to Literary Places in the U.S., as well as numerous articles in Ideals magazine. Michelle spent many hours researching the story and speaking with an historian at the Statue of Liberty. Along the way, her three children became well-informed on the topic as well! She lives in Old Hickory, Tennessee, with her family.
Kathy Mitchell was born in Ohio and studied at the College of Design, Architecture and Art at the University of Cincinnati. Among the classic children's titles she has illustrated are Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Jane Eyre, and The Secret Garden. Kathy now lives in Santa Monica, California, with her husband, their two children, and various pets that include a bearded dragon, cockatoo, and Basenji.

we bought the story of christmas and my 2 yr old wanted to know more about jesus. so this book is perfect. tells the story of his life in easy terms, colorful pictures, and short enough to keep her attention. we really enjoy this book.
