An integral book

This is a beautiful guidebook to the Japanese Buddhist temples of Hawaii. Many of these temples are facing closure, so this is a timely and very informative guide, covering history of the religion in Hawaii overall as well as in regards to individual buildings. The quality of the book is high, there is good resolution and color, and the paper has an elegant texture. Much needed coverage for those interested in preserving these gems or seeing them before they disappear. I recommend the film "Aloha Buddha" for those interested in a historical documentary on the subject. This book is great for a building-by-building guide. As a mainlander interested in religious architecture, I will use this as a guidebook when I next visit the islands in order to see some of these historical sites. Highly recommended.

Excellent Book!

EVERYTHING about this book is superior: the photography, the research and writing, the production---everything! It is an instant classic which will probably never be surpassed. I'm the gift shop manager for one of the temples in this book, Daifukuji, and everyone who sees this book in our shop says, "I must have this book!" It's that good! No one who buys this book will be disappointed---guaranteed.
